The exhibition features embroidered shirts, dresses, belts, and necklaces from various regions of Ukraine, including Poltava, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Polissia, Bukovyna (including Chernivtsi region), Naddnistrianshchyna, and Podillia regions. The exhibits represented unique samples from Ternopil, Zalishchyky, and Borshchiv regions as well. The exhibition is also enriched with authentic towels, tablecloths, postcards, and Easter eggs, both traditional and contemporary, including original author-designed pieces.
Many of the exhibits come from private family collections, generously contributed by Khrystyna Sobol and Mariia Shved, Oleksandra Dyda, Iryna Kliuchkovska, Khrystyna Burshtynska, Solomiia Kharambura, Zoriana Klymko, Iryna Polishchuk, Nadiia Liubomudrova, Lesia Brych, as well as the International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations.
The exhibition is thoughtfully complemented by works of contemporary artists, including a woven shroud, motanka dolls, paintings, and photographic works depicting Easter eggs, alongside original pysankas inspired by folk songs. These pieces were created by faculty and researchers from the Department of Design and Architecture Fundamentals and the Department of Architectural Design, including Zoriana Klymko, Svitlana Frankiv, Mariia Yanko, Yaroslav Didula, and Oleksandra Dyda.
The concept of the exhibition was developed by the Museum Director Tetiana Dyba. It is of particular significance that members of the Polytechnic community actively supported the initiative by sharing cherished family heirlooms passed down through generations. Each exhibit carries its own unique and compelling story, at times deeply poignant. For many Ukrainians, embroidery has long served not only as an art form but also as a means of preserving identity and resilience, symbolizing cultural continuity and national strength. It was passed down through generations as a cherished heirloom and a symbol of the national identity.
The Department of Design and Architecture Fundamentals and the Department of Architectural Design, as well as Nadia Liubomudrova, Head of the Department of Employee Training and Development, and Vice-Rector Ihor Gelzhynskyi also joined the organization of the exhibition.
The exhibition will run until April 17 and is open to visitors from 10:00 a.m. to 14:00 p.m., excluding weekends.
