Students of the Department of Visual Design and Art, the Institute of Architecture and Design, APP, effectively presented a socially significant issue and a deeply relevant challenge for Ukrainians at the Berlin Story Bunker. They created a short animated video that generated considerable public resonance.
As part of the project «Eco. Info. Children» students of the Department of Visual Design and Art for the NGO «Hands for a Hero». The initiative focuses on delivering educational sessions for teenagers to counter Russian propaganda and prevent the online recruitment of young people into subversive activities.
The video was created under the supervision of Senior Lecturer Taras Habrel, together with third-year students Inna Hnatiuk, Maia Tsmokanych, Mariia Hupalo, and Yurii Leniv. The team also collaborated with Yevheniia Nomirovska, Chair of the Board of the NGO «Hands for a Hero», and the organization’s representative Karina Denieva. The project was finalized with audio production by sound engineer Dmytro Likhachov.
The project was completed within three weeks. While working on the animated video, the students felt they were contributing to a socially significant cause. It was particularly important for them that the video was presented at the international level.
To capture the audience’s attention, the team used a range various techniques. As the students explained, they used striking visuals and a gradual build-up of tension to ensure that viewers – especially those who might face serious consequences as a result of their actions – would truly remember the message.
