On April 7, 2026, the UniTwin project team presented to the attention of the academic community the results of discussions with employers (IT, agro-sector, construction, energy, trade and logistics and other industries) a list of the most in-demand skills for the dual (green and digital) transition. Particularly, 44 organizations from all over Ukraine joined the industry focus groups, namely, JSC "Ukrgazvydobuvannya", NOVUS, NIBULON, Kharkiv IT Cluster, SoftServe, RGM Group and others. Based on the results of the discussion, a list of the most in-demand digital competencies, sustainable development competencies and transversal competencies was developed in each of the industry focus groups. Business representatives emphasized the growing role of digital technologies in supporting the organization's business processes, the importance of implementing sustainable development initiatives in operational activities, and the development of flexible, interdisciplinary skills of modern specialists.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the list of the most in-demand competencies, according to employers, for each industry and in terms of three focuses (digital skills, sustainable development skills, and transversal skills) and considered areas for further development of educational programs, in particular, "International Business Administration", "International Economic Relations", at Masters level programs "International Economics" and "Business Administration", taking into account employers' expectations. With such a dialogue HEIs are capable to develop educational programs to the real needs of the labor market.
Together, we are creating an environment where education and business work as a ecosystem to train competitive specialists!
We express our gratitude to business representatives for their cooperation and openness to partnership.
