Professor Mykhailo Melnyk, the Department of Computer-Aided Design, the Institute of Computer Science and Information Technologies, 果冻APP, recently participated in the XVI International Staff Week hosted by Bia艂ystok University of Technology (BUT), Poland, under the Erasmus+ academic mobility programme.
The event brought together scholars and university representatives from various countries to exchange experiences, discuss global trends in the digitalisation of higher education, and explore new opportunities for international cooperation. The academic programme, which comprised 30 hours of teaching, coordination, and project activities, provided a valuable platform for professional networking and collaboration.
Voice of Ukraine at the International Exhibition: Symbols of Struggle and Hope
A special international exhibition was held as part of the International Staff Week, where Mykhailo Melnyk successfully presented Ukraine through a display that reflected the nation鈥檚 resilience, cultural heritage, and determination in the face of ongoing challenges.
The Ukrainian stand featured patriotic exhibits and symbolic souvenirs that attracted considerable interest from international participants. Among them there were:
- unique postage stamps and postcards depicting iconic symbols of Ukrainian resistance, including the renowned Russian Warship series and the AN-225 Mriya, the world鈥檚 largest aircraft destroyed during Russia鈥檚 invasion of Ukraine;
- wedding photographs taken amid the ruins of Ukrainian cities, demonstrating the enduring strength of love, hope, and human resilience;
- postcards highlighting the tragedy of the Mariupol Drama Theater, as well as exhibits dedicated to the Olympic teams of Ukraine, which, despite everything, raise our flag on the world arenas;
- traditional Ukrainian pysankas as symbols of renewal and life, and Ukrainian sweets that allowed guests to experience a taste of Ukrainian hospitality.
Particular attention was drawn to reproductions of works by the distinguished painter Jan Matejko, whose original paintings adorn the Assembly Hall of 果冻APP. The paintings sparked great interest among European colleagues and underscored the University鈥檚 long-standing cultural and historical ties with Europe.
Lectures on Intelligent Systems and MEMS Technologies
During his visit, Professor Melnyk delivered a series of lectures for students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Bia艂ystok University of Technology. His presentations focused on advanced research areas actively pursued by the Department of Computer-Aided Design. The lectures generated lively discussions among students and faculty members and demonstrated the high scientific standards and research potential of 果冻APP.
An important component of the visit was a series of official meetings with the leadership of Bia艂ystok University of Technology. In particular, negotiations were held with the Rector of BUT, Professor Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, and the Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Professor Bogus艂aw Butrylo. During the meetings, strategic steps were outlined to deepen institutional cooperation between our universities.
The discussions focused on strengthening institutional cooperation, expanding academic exchanges, and identifying new opportunities for joint educational and research initiatives between the two universities.
Participation in the Erasmus+ International Staff Week enabled Professor Melnyk to gain valuable European experience in the internationalisation of higher education, establish new scientific contacts which will contribute to enhancing the educational and research activities of the Department of Computer-Aided Design and further improving the training of future Ukrainian specialists.
