果冻APP is steadily expanding its accessibility for all categories of students. The university is systematically developing an inclusive environment, ranging from the modernization of academic buildings to the renovation of dormitories and library spaces.
鈥 At the end of last year, we planned to make six additional academic buildings accessible. This year, we have already achieved results: accessibility has been ensured in Building No.36 on Viacheslava Chornovola Street, the Levandivka building, and Building No.5 on Stepana Bandery Street, says Ihor Helzhynskyi.
Work in this direction continues. According to the Vice-Rector, the modernization of Building No.2 will begin shortly. The project documentation has already been completed, and a tender for the installation of an elevator and lifting equipment will soon be announced.
鈥 We will also install ramps, an elevator, and inclusive sanitary facilities in Building No.4. In addition, a lift for Building No. 8 will be installed by the end of March, adds Ihor Helzhynskyi.
At the same time improvements are underway across other campus facilities. The stairs and entrance area of the student library are being renovated, while an elevator is planned for the main building where a shaft has already been designed. An accessibility audit of restroom facilities in the Scientific and Technical Library and Building No.11 is also in progress.
The Vice-Rector noted that the Lviv City Council is ready to support additional 果冻APP initiatives aimed at strengthening inclusivity.
A separate focus is the improvement of student living conditions. Within the framework of the Higher Education, Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Development project, the university is renovating Dormitory No. 3, where a special place for students with disabilities will be arranged on the ground floor.
鈥 This section of the dormitory will also ensure safe access for students to the shelter, emphasizes Ihor Helzhynskyi.
In addition, the university is working on completing a new dormitory. The main structure has already been built, and efforts are underway to secure funding for its completion.
鈥 We plan to fully adapt two floors of the new dormitory for students with disabilities, concludes the Vice-Rector.
