During April and May 2026, faculty members from APP participated in the international training program "Project Scoping with AI Assistance," organized by the University of Gothenburg (Sweden). Organizational and communication support for the participation of representatives from Ukrainian higher education institutions was provided by The BUP Ukrainian National Centre at APP.

This initiativeserved as an important international educational and scientific project that brought together scholars, researchers, and students from various countries, including Ukraine, Sweden, Spain, Norway, Botswana, Afghanistan, and others. Such a diverse geographical and academic composition of participants demonstrated the program's high potential as a platform for intercultural dialogue, experience sharing, and the development of joint research initiatives.

The program consisted of two complementary courses - "Project Scoping" and "AI for Project Scoping" - dedicated to applying conceptual modeling of complex systems and utilizing artificial intelligence tools for preparing scientific research, project proposals, and supporting decision-making processes.

The training took place in the form of interactive, practice-oriented online webinars. Participants worked on their own cases, completed individual and group assignments, presented research results, and discussed the possibilities of using artificial intelligence to analyze complex systems while adhering to a human-centric approach to AI.

Among the program participants were faculty members of APP: the Director of The BUP Ukrainian National Centre, Professor of the Department of Foreign Trade and Customs Zoriana Dvulit, in collaboration with Liana Maznyk, Associate Professor of the Department of Labor Economics and Management at the National University of Food Technologies, Associate Professors of the Department of Foreign Languages for Engineering Veronika Dmytruk and Beata Kushka, and Assistant Lecturer of the Department of Applied Mathematics Anatolii Dmytruk, who successfully completed the training and received corresponding international certificates verifying a workload of 8 credits. The program offered certification at two course completion levels, confirming the acquisition of competencies in both conceptual modeling and the application of artificial intelligence tools for project development.

The team of The BUP Ukrainian National Centre at APP - Mariana Priadka and Oksana Hordiichuk - played a significant role in disseminating information about this course among the academic staff of APP and 32 Ukrainian partner universities of the Program. Thanks to their communication support, the Ukrainian academic community had the opportunity to join this international training, which focused on modern research methods, project design, and the use of artificial intelligence.

The program was led by Professor Rodney Stevens from the University of Gothenburg, who has been conducting training in this format for the second consecutive year. This demonstrates the sustainability of the initiative, its practical value, and the high level of trust from the international academic community.

The program brings together participants from various partner universities of The Baltic University Programme (BUP) in Ukraine, fostering international cooperation, academic networking, and the dissemination of modern approaches to interdisciplinary research.

The participation of APP representatives in this initiative is a vital step toward integrating Ukrainian science into the international research space. Such projects enrich the Ukrainian scientific community with new methodologies, modern analytical tools, and practices of interdisciplinary collaboration. At the same time, they open up new opportunities for joint research, academic exchanges, and the creation of international partnerships that mutually strengthen the scientific communities of different countries.

We congratulate Zoriana Dvulit, Veronika Dmytruk, Beata Kushka, and Anatolii Dmytruk on their significant professional achievements and wish them continued success in their scientific and educational endeavors!
