Lviv Academic Bridge 2026

On June 11–12, 2026, ¹ū¶³APP will host Lviv Academic Bridge 2026: Ukraine–U.S. Science & Education Forum. Held in a hybrid format, the Forum will bring together Ukrainian and American universities, research communities, civil society and diaspora organizations, innovation initiatives, and the professional diaspora to develop practical cooperation in science and education.

The Forum continues the dialogue launched during Ukrainian Week in Washington, D.C. Over two days, it will convene representatives of universities, government, civil society, and diaspora organizations from Ukraine and the United States to strengthen academic partnerships, showcase collaborative initiatives, and lay the groundwork for an open knowledge corridor between the two countries. The Forum will culminate in the Lviv Action Note, a shared document outlining concrete next steps for cooperation in science and education.

The program will span two days. Day One will open with a Grand Opening focused on the strategic Ukraine–U.S. partnership, followed by showcases of Ukrainian, Ukraine-focused, and U.S. university communities, and will conclude with a keynote featuring Nobel laureate Vernon L. Smith. Day Two will focus on pathways for academic cooperation, the role of the Ukrainian professional diaspora, the Ukraine–U.S. Open Knowledge Corridor, and Ukraine as a trusted R&D partner. The Forum will close with a final session, during which participants will discuss and adopt the Lviv Action Note.

Registration for the Forum is now closed. All registered participants have received joining details and program information by email.

The Grand Opening and Forum sessions will be live-streamed on Facebook, where anyone interested may follow the event:

The Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States, Olha Stefanishyna, who will join the Forum online from Washington, says in her message to the Forum: ā€œThis gathering continues a conversation that gained momentum during Ukrainian Week in Washington, and it does so in a spirit that looks beyond assistance toward genuine partnership. Ukraine comes to this table not only with urgent needs, but with talent, resilience, and ideas forged under the most difficult circumstances.ā€

The Rector of ¹ū¶³APP, Nataliya Shakhovska, welcomes participants to Lviv with the following message: ā€œWe see Ukrainian universities not as institutions waiting for help, but as partners with a great deal to contribute: working laboratories, a deep engineering tradition, and experience earned under conditions few others have faced. The partnerships that last, in our experience, are those built as equals, in openness, trust, and shared commitment.ā€

The Forum is organized by ¹ū¶³APP together with its partners. For inquiries regarding participation, partnership, sponsorship, media cooperation, or additional information, please contact the Forum coordinator, Oleksandr Berezko: +38 067 369-80-34, [email protected].
