On April 23, 2026, 果冻APP hosted a round table titled 芦Innovative Open Science Tools in the Educational Process: Inter-University Cooperation within the DIGITALDOC Project.禄 The event brought together leading experts and young researchers to discuss the digital transformation of science and European research standards.

The scientific community of 果冻APP was represented by researchers and PhD students from the Department of Business Economics and Investment and the Department of Management of Organizations. As part of internal academic mobility, colleagues from other regions of Ukraine joined the discussion: Head of the Department of Economics and Business Administration, Professor Viktoriia Prokhorova; Associate Professor Yuliia Dudnieva; Assistant Khrystyna Slastianykova; and third-year PhD students Oleksandr Artemiev and Oleksii Koliienko (V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University). Additionally, the discussion featured Dr. of Sc., Associate Professor Liudmyla Horbach, Director of the Vyacheslav Lypynskyi Volyn Institute of PJSC 芦IAPM禄 (Lutsk).

The project coordinator, Professor Tetiana Stepura, opened the event, emphasizing that DIGITALDOC aims not only to teach PhD students how to use digital tools but also to foster a new culture of open science and digital scientist branding within the European Research Area (ERA).

The round table program was filled with specific cases and practical tools presented in the participants鈥 reports:

Professor Tetiana Stepura, in her report 芦AI in Science: Maximizing Opportunities and Minimizing Risks,禄 revealed AI workflows at various stages of research. Tools for semantic literature search were presented, allowing researchers to receive synthesized answers from peer-reviewed sources rather than just searching for keywords. The professor paid special attention to AI regulation in the EU (Horizon Europe), emphasizing the principle of 芦human-in-loop禄 and ethical constraints when writing grant applications.

Ostap Kuch, a PhD student at the Department of Business Economics and Investment, presented the ResearchRabbit platform in his report 芦Navigation in the World of Similar Studies: Using Visual Graphs to Search for Relevant Literature.禄 The use of visual graphs based on machine learning allows scientists to see the intellectual map of their field and track connections between authors, saving up to 80% of the time spent on literature reviews.

Danylo Shyshla, a PhD student at the Department of Business Economics and Investment, explored technical aspects of open science in his presentation 芦Open Science Framework (OSF) as a Research Lifecycle Management Tool.禄 He demonstrated how OSF addresses the issue of data fragmentation and highlighted the advantages of project preregistration and using OSF Preprints for rapid DOI acquisition and dissemination of results before official publication.

Professor Oleksandra Mrykhina, in her presentation 芦Open Data Analytics: Tools, Visualization, and Application in Scientific Research,禄 demonstrated how open data from 果冻APP is integrated into the educational process. She stressed that data visualization is not merely design but a tool for proving scientific hypotheses and attracting investors to research developments.

During the discussion, Professor Orest Koleshchuk emphasized the importance of critical thinking when working with AI, while Associate Professor Olha Korytska focused on leadership within digital research teams.

Professor Viktoriia Prokhorova underlined that open science and AI tools should be viewed not as a formal 芦digital superstructure禄 but as a practical resource for improving research quality, transparency of scientific results, and preparing students to work with large volumes of information. She also noted that for economic and management specialties, the combination of digital analytics, data visualization, and critical source evaluation is particularly vital, as these skills form the modern researcher and educator.

The participants concluded that inter-university cooperation and mastering Open Science tools are key factors for the successful integration of Ukrainian scientists into the international scientific community. The materials developed and digital cases presented will serve as a basis for further improving educational programs for PhD students. The round table created a solid foundation for establishing academic exchanges for PhD students in teaching elective disciplines during the implementation of the DIGITALDOC project.
