On February 11, APP hosted a meeting between Rector Nataliia Shakhovska and the Director of the British Council in Ukraine Tom Miscioscia and the Manager of Educational Programs Yulia Sobol.
Oleh Karyi, Vice-Rector of the University, Oksana Ivanytska, Head of the International Office, Nataliia Hots, Head of the International Cooperation Service, Halyna Yaremko, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages for Humanities, Mariia Voloshyn, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages for Engineering, and Olena Levchenko, Head of the Department of Applied Linguistics, also took part in the event.
During the meeting, they presented the university’s activities, highlighting its experience in collaborating with UK universities and organizations, as well as its scientific schools and educational programs. The British Council representatives showed particular interest in the dual degree programs with Nottingham Trent University, as well as joint educational and research projects with Kingston University and Northumbria University.
The guests shared their experience in implementing educational, language and cultural programs in Ukrainian higher education institutions, which are supported by the British Council office in Ukraine.
An important part of the meeting was the discussion of the university representatives’ participation in the Academic Manager Development Program, implemented within the joint project «Improving Higher Education in Ukraine for Results», led by the British Council, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, and the World Bank.
The parties paid special attention to plans for further cooperation, including hosting the Days of British Culture at APP, expanding collaboration in English language education, and organizing English language examinations.
