On April 22, the Day of Education and Science of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland was held at APP. The event aimed at deepening academic cooperation, developing international educational partnerships, and expanding opportunities for Ukrainian students and teachers.
The event was held with the support of the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Ukraine together with the British Council Ukraine.
As part of the program, a meeting was held with the Rector of APP, Nataliia Shakhovska, with the participation of Tom Miscioscia, Director of the British Council Ukraine, and Anastasiia Horoshenko, a representative of the Political and Economic Section of the British Embassy in Kyiv. During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for further cooperation, the development of joint educational and research projects, and the expansion of academic exchange opportunities between Ukraine and the United Kingdom.
A separate part of the event was the session Academic Bridges, moderated by Tom Misiosha. In his presentation, he introduced the key initiatives of the British Council Ukraine, including programs for English language teachers, opportunities for research collaboration, and partnership projects between universities. Particular attention was dedicated to strengthening international academic relations and supporting the integration of Ukrainian education into the global academic community.
Another important component of the event was an information session dedicated to the Chevening Scholarship programme, presented by Anastasiia Horoshenko. Participants received detailed information about opportunities to study in the United Kingdom with UK government funding, the application process, and the advantages of the programme for Ukrainian students and academics.
The program also featured a panel discussion English Without Borders / Academic Bridges: The Power of English, during which participants explored the role of the English language as a key instrument of global academic integration. The discussion united representatives of various academic communities around the topic of international cooperation in education and research, emphasizing the importance of language proficiency for the development of a modern university environment.
Held under the slogan Building Global Partnerships in Education and Science, the event became an important platform for strengthening Ukrainian-British educational relations, creating new opportunities for academic mobility, and fostering joint scientific initiatives.
