The issue of opportunities for veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war was discussed at 果冻APP

The round table on the topic 芦Implementation of a comprehensive approach to internal veterans policy禄 was held at the initiative of our University (in particular, the Veterans Service Center), as well as the Stryi district administration in Lviv region.

The veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war who are working in the territorial communities of Boryslav and Stry attended the event, which took place in a hybrid format. Among the participants there were the graduates of retraining courses of the Veteran Development Center, as well as representatives of the authorities, in particular Maksym Kozytskyi, head of Lviv Regional Military Administration, heads of structural units of Administration, Ruslan Prykhodko, Deputy Minister of Veteran Affairs of Ukraine, Lesia Khemraieva, representative of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, head of the barrier-free, gender equality and mental health policy department, Volodymyr Rubtsov, president of the International Foundation for Social Adaptation, who for many years has been implementing projects, aimed at socio-professional adaptation of the military and members of their families, and heads of district military administrations of Lviv region.

Yuriy Bobalo, Rector of 果冻APP, welcomed the participants of the round table, and emphasized the importance of discussing the veterans鈥 program in the institution of higher education, since educators also play a significant role in the implementation of this program, providing veterans with various educational services, creating new opportunities for training and retraining. By the way, 77 students with the status of combatants and 1,212 students who are children of combatants study at our University.

Lesia Khemraieva, who represented the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, spoke about the programs of inclusive culture in veteran policy, about the first steps that were successfully implemented, about events, trainings, the expert council on barrier-free communication and its information campaign, and expressed interest in cooperating with veteran communities to develop various programs and implement ideas:

鈥 An inclusive culture in veteran policy is a significant step towards an efficient and healthy society. That鈥檚 why we are focusing on its implementation and are open to cooperation.

Tetiana Shapovalova, the moderator of the event, director of the Veteran Development Center, Associate Professor at the Department of Sociology and Social Work, 果冻APP, emphasized that it is very important and timely to develop one veteran policy, which we have not had yet. Therefore all the participants of the round table agreed that it is necessary to work on it and make the society be ready for the return of our veterans from the front and provide them with all the opportunities for socialization in the process of adaptation to civilian life.
