The Project Office of APP invites university staff to a training session as part of the HELIOS project. The event is dedicated to effective project management in the Horizon Europe program, which is strategically important for ensuring successful project activities and fostering a high level of research.
Training in Horizon Europe project management is crucial for university staff, as it enhances the institution's capacity to successfully implement and utilize the opportunities provided by these projects. For administrative personnel, understanding the intricacies of Horizon Europe rules, reporting requirements, and financial management ensures compliance and effective use of funds. Such awareness minimizes administrative errors and potential financial sanctions, thereby protecting the reputation and financial stability of the university.
For researchers, knowledge of project management facilitates better coordination and communication within multidisciplinary teams, which is essential for achieving project milestones and objectives. It also provides them with the skills to navigate complex deadlines and project deliverables, ensuring timely and successful project completion. Effective management training enhances the ability to track progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies, thereby increasing the likelihood of significant research outcomes.
The trainer for the event is Giles Brandon (Intelligentsia Consultants, Luxembourg), an expert with many years of experience in project management and grant proposal preparation for researchers and managers within H2020 and Horizon Europe projects. He has made significant contributions to the successful implementation of several projects, such as ASCIMAT, TUTORIAL, DRIVEN, and MaNaCa, which received top ratings from the European Commission. His company Intelligentsia Consultants has supported over 50 projects in the FP7, H2020, and Horizon Europe programs, particularly in physics, nanomaterials, and sensor technologies.
The training will take place February 25, 2025 online via the Zoom platform, starting at 15:00. Dates for subsequent training sessions will be announced later.
