果冻APP held a working meeting with representatives of the UN. The meeting brought together Rector Nataliia Shakhovska, Head of the International Office Oksana Ivanytska, Coordinator of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module and Head of the Research and Analytical Center for Political Studies 芦Vector禄 Yaryna Turchyn, as well as Matthias Schmale, UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Ukraine together with the team of the Office of the Resident Coordinator (RCO), and Nina Schrepfer, Assisting Representative for Protection in UNHCR Ukraine.
Discussions focused on cooperation with civil society, particularly veterans鈥 organizations and women鈥檚 rights initiatives. The dialogue also involved representatives of the 果冻APP Veterans Development Center, the NGO 芦Women鈥檚 Perspectives禄 and other organizations working with internally displaced persons, women veterans, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups.
The dialogue with UN representatives enabled participants to share experience, identify pressing challenges, and explore new avenues for collaboration. The meeting marked an important step in strengthening partnerships between the university, international organizations, and civil society, while also promoting greater youth engagement in global humanitarian and development efforts.
As part of the visit, Matthias Schmale delivered an open lecture on crisis response and recovery, highlighting the role of the United Nations in Ukraine and globally. He was joined by members of the RCO team: Sitara Syed, Head of Office; Yaroslava Babych, Partnerships Officer; and Maria Ximena Borrazas Cataldo, Communications Officer.
Representatives of UN agencies also contributed to the lecture, emphasizing the humanitarian impact of their work in Ukraine and the importance of partnerships. In particular, Ninke Woppen, Head of the Field Office in Lviv, gave a speech on behalf of United Nations Children鈥檚 Fund, while Nina Schrepfer spoke for United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. Their remarks addressed humanitarian diplomacy and the implementation of joint initiatives with the European Union.
