The working visits of Nataliia Shakhovska to leading universities in Italy continue to bring new results for the development of international cooperation at APP. New partnership memorandums have been signed with one of Italy’s leading humanities institutions, University for Foreigners of Siena, as well as with Università di Parma, one of the oldest universities in the world.

During a meeting with Rector Tomaso Montanari, the parties discussed the development of cooperation in language education, cultural mediation, and international academic programs. One of the key outcomes of the negotiations was an agreement to establish an Italian language certification center at APP. The initiative also provides for the organization and certification of Italian language courses in cooperation with the Leonardo da Vinci Center for Italian-Ukrainian Cooperation.

Special attention was given to the prospects of signing Erasmus+ agreements between the universities’ departments of foreign language, which would create new academic mobility opportunities for students and faculty members.

The University for Foreigners of Siena is a public higher education institution specializing in the teaching the Italian language and culture to international students. The university develops and administers the international CILS examinations – the official certification of Italian language proficiency. Founded in 1917, the institution is located in the historic center of Siena in the Tuscany region.

Another important stage of the visit was the signing of a cooperation memorandum with Università di Parma, headed by Rector Paolo Martelli. Founded in 962, the university is one of the oldest higher education institutions in the world and a major scientific and educational center in Italy.

Italian partners expressed strong interest in cooperation with APP in the fields of chemistry, ecology, environmental studies, and computer science. Biotechnology, mathematics, physics, architecture, international relations, and pharmacy were also identified as promising areas for future collaboration.
