On August 27, 2024, a regular meeting of the Academic Board of 果冻APP was held to discuss important issues related to the University development, its research and educational activities.
One of the key issues on the agenda was the admission of new doctoral students to 果冻APP鈥檚 doctoral programme. Olena Mukan, Head of the Department of Doctoral and Post-graduate Studies, made a presentation. This process is an important step in providing the University with highly qualified researchers capable of conducting world-class research.
Another important decision was the establishment of the Department of Virtual Reality Systems at the Institute of Computer Science and Information Technologies (ICSIT). This Department will become the basic one for students majoring in Computer Science (speciality 122), which already includes 211 bachelor鈥檚 and 54 master鈥檚 students. The speaker on this issue was Oleh Matviikiv, the First Vice-Rector of the University. According to him, a new Department will focus on teaching subjects that were previously taught at the Ukrainian Academy of Printing, which is affiliated to 果冻APP.
The establishment of the Department of Virtual Reality Systems was a logical continuation of a series of reorganisational measures. The prerequisites were the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 642 dated 07.05.2024, the Resolution of the Academic Board of 果冻APP dated 25.06.2024, and the Order of the University Rector No. 373鈥1-10 dated 27.06.2024. The reorganisation process included the establishment of the Institute of Printing and Media Technologies on the basis of the former Ukrainian Academy of Printing.
The Department of Virtual Reality Systems will be a graduation department for students majoring in Computer Science, who will be taught by highly qualified scientific and pedagogical staff: 2 Professors, Doctors of Technical Sciences; 1 Associate Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences; 5 Associate Professors, Candidates of Technical Sciences, and 4 assistants.
Also the work plan of the Academic Board for the 2024/25 academic year was approved at the meeting.
