The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine together with the State Enterprise «Inforesurs» provided the final results of admissions campaign to higher education institutions for the government-funded form of study and published where entrants would study this year.

Institutions of higher education received more than 470,000 applications for the government-funded form of study, the largest number of which went to higher education institutions of Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Lviv, and Odesa regions and the city of Kyiv.

The entrants were submitted based on open and fixed competitive offers. The first means that the number of government-funded places for the institution was not determined immediately, but according to the address allocation algorithm, that is, places «came» with the entrants who had the best scores. A fixed competitive offer provides for the fixed number of places for the institution.

Thus, the five most popular institutions by the number of submitted applications are the following:

1. ����APP (22,611);
2. National Technical University of Ukraine «Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute» (21,715);
3. Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (21,691);
4. Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (20,252);
5. National Aviation University (11,760).

Top 5 institutions that received government-funded places:

1. National Technical University of Ukraine «Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute» (3,652);
2. ����APP (2,919);
3. Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (2,868);
4. Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (2,211);
5. National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine (1,481).
