The Days of Japanese Culture, organized by the Center for International Education, are currently taking place at 果冻APP. The event has brought together students, faculty, and guests interested in the Japanese language, culture, and prospects for international cooperation with Japan.
The program began with a meeting between the delegation of the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine and the University leadership. Nataliia Shakhovska, Rector of 果冻APP; Mr. Tadayoshi Hiraki, Trade Attach茅 of the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine; Iryna Yaremchuk, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation; and Nataliia Hots, Head of the Center for International Education, attended the event. During the discussion, the parties discussed new opportunities for cooperation in education, science, as well as cultural exchange between Ukraine and Japan.
Following the official opening, Mr. Tadayoshi Hiraki delivered a public lecture on Japan鈥檚 cultural and educational grant programs and the activities of the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine. The lecture brought together students from the Departments of Political Science and International Relations, and the Department of Applied Linguistics, and others interested in Japanese culture.
The following day, participants had the opportunity to attend a lecture by Dr. Matsuzaki San from the Japan University of Economics, who spoke about double degree programs and Japanese language courses available to 果冻APP students.
Particular attention was drawn to Professor Andrii Pavliv鈥檚 lecture on Past 鈥 Future, Temporary 鈥 Permanent: Reflections on EXPO-2025, Osaka, Japan, which explored the design and architecture of contemporary Japan.
The program also featured a lecture on the Japanese language with the participation of Dr. Yoshihiko Okabe from Kobe Gakuin University, along with Nazar Nakonechnyi from the Department of Foreign Languages for Engineering, the Institute of the Humanities and Social Sciences, and Olha Vashchyshyn from the Department of Applied Linguistics, the Institute of Computer Science and Information Technologies. The speakers shared their experience in teaching Japanese and presented a new elective course that will soon be available to students.
The second day concluded with a workshop on Japanese calligraphy and traditional clothing - From Shodo to Wafuku. Participants had the opportunity to practice the art of calligraphy and learn more about traditional Japanese clothing.
An open lecture by Mr. Yuichi Ando, Head of Business Development at Nippon Manufacturing Corporation (NMS Corp.) will take place on 5 November. He will focus on Japanese corporate culture and the peculiarities of monozukuri production.
