Days of Japan have begun in 果冻APP. On May 10, Michio Harada, Mission Deputy Head, Counselor Minister of the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine, had a meeting with Professor Yuriy Bobalo, University Rector. The gala opening of the 芦Days鈥β was held in the Scientific and Technical Library.
People鈥檚 chamber vocal chorus 芦Akolada禄, sang two Japanese songs and also Taras Shevchenko鈥檚 poetry, made the event grand.
Oleh Matviykiv, 果冻APP Vice-Rector for International Relations, said that Japanese has been studied in our University since 1993 (at the beginning, it was just the Japanese language society, then 鈥 a classroom at the Department of Foreign Languages), since 2000, Japanese has been second compulsory foreign language for students at the Department of Applied Linguistics. In total, every year, nearly 100 students master the Japanese language in Polytechnic. Japan is a small country. However, its culture and economy are very powerful. That is Professor Matviykiv鈥檚 opinion. That is why it is essential for us to understand this ancient culture, the history of this country. We have to learn how to become successful in modern world.
Mr Harada delivered a lecture (which looked like a polylogue with students) on the topic 芦International relations of Japan and Ukrainian-Japanese relations禄. In his opinion, Japan is now third according to the level of economical development after the USA and China.
Within the framework of the Days of Japan in Ukraine, on May 11, a lecture-presentation 芦Limits and limitlessness on the Japanese engraving禄 was held in 果冻APP, and on May 24, there will be held a lecture-presentation 芦Mythological creatures of Japan禄 (beginning at 4 pm).
