Scientific school of Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Protsko I.O.

Prof. I. O. Protska's research focus: "Research and synthesis of effective computational algorithms." Prof. I. O. Protska's research direction is related to the further development of the topic of her doctoral dissertation – effective computations of real harmonic transforms based on cyclic convolutions, which involves the synthesis of algorithms and their software implementation. The calculation of direct and inverse discrete transforms of arbitrary volume based on orthogonal harmonic basis systems in the real domain covers discrete cosine transforms, discrete sine transforms, discrete Hartley transforms and their variants. The described transforms are used for image processing, optical and biomedical signals, in communication systems, acoustics, neural networks, cryptography, and many other systems. Joint work on this topic with postgraduate student R. V. Rykmas, programmer O. V. Gryshchuk, and master's student M. V. Mishchuk has yielded significant scientific results, published in the journals: "Cybernetics and System Analysis"; IET Signal Processing; International Journal of Signal Processing Systems; COMADEM; American Journal of Circuits; Systems and Signal Processing; Radio Electronics, Informatics, Management. Master's student M. Plyukalov is researching the use of developed fast transforms for calculating mel-coefficients, which are used for personalising voice control in smart systems. O. Gryshchuk is engaged in the research and implementation of computational algorithms on multi-digit numbers larger than 1 Kbit. The algorithms and corresponding software functions for multithreaded calculation of modular exponentials using Montgomery multiplication, developed under the guidance of Prof. I. O. Protsko, are the fastest among known libraries. Prof. I. O. Protsko's textbook "Binary-bit algorithms: Programming and Application" (Lviv, 2020), which presents many algorithms that use the simplest arithmetic and logical operations on binary data, simplifying and accelerating the calculation process.

Prof. I. O. Protsko participated in the following scientific projects: "High-speed information technologies for data processing in microelectromechanical systems based on embedded artificial neural networks", "Development of basic components for the synthesis of intelligent mobile robotic systems", "Intelligent information technologies for multi-level energy efficiency management in the region."
