Within this scientific field, M.O. Medikovsky's scientific school develops components of information and analytical systems (IAS) that ensure the optimisation of information interaction between local authorities and services with organisations and institutions for the purpose of managing the energy efficiency of the economy on the basis of management decisions based on comprehensive objective data. Within the framework of this technology, IAS components are being developed that integrate the functions of managing the technological and organisational-economic processes of the region's economy.
The use of an integrated approach, which encompasses modern methods and means of analytical data processing, modelling, forecasting and decision-making, ensures improved quality, reduced costs and shorter design times. The development of components and IAS is based on the principles of systematicity, variable equipment composition, modularity, openness, compatibility and the use of a set of basic design solutions. The region's energy efficiency is managed by processing large amounts of information that are continuously accumulated as a result of comprehensive real-time monitoring of the energy efficiency indicators of territories, enterprises and organisations in the region. Various data are integrated using databases, DBMS, repositories and data spaces, which are accessed via web technologies. Forecasting and searching for non-obvious patterns in the IAS is carried out using methods of operational analytical processing supplemented by methods of intelligent data analysis.
