Scientific activities of the Department of Practical Psychology of Mental Health

The previous head of the Department of Practical Psychology of Mental Health from 2019 to 2025 was Doctor of Psychological Sciences, Professor Iryna Snyadanko.

Since 2025, the department has been headed by Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor Lidia Oryshchyn-Buzhdyhan.

In the period 2019-2025, 5 research topics were approved at the department:

  • “Psychology of National Security and Well-Being of the Individual” Topic Head: Iryna Snyadanko;
  • “Psychological Conditions for the Origin, Spread and Overcoming of Addictions of Non-Chemical Origin in the Youth Environment” Topic Head: Olena Leshchynska;
  • "Psychological conditions for constructive interaction of modern youth in the information society" Topic leader: Berezovska Larysa;
  • "Psychological determinants of the functioning of organisations in the modern world" Topic leader: Snyadanko Iryna;
  • "Psychological aspects of the transformation of cultural and behavioural constructs of a person in the context of a risk society" Topic leader: Sviderska Olha.

From 2021 to 2023, a research laboratory, "Laboratory of Organisational Psychology", was created at the department. Modern psychological technologies were introduced in the laboratory, namely:

The author's program "Intensive for the training of trainers" was developed and implemented; the program "Use of metaphorical associative maps in psychological counselling, therapy and group work" was developed. (g/d No. 748);

A program using metaphorical associative cards in group work was developed and implemented to increase the motivational sphere of group participants and individual corrective work with the personality. Familiarisation with different decks of cards provided an explanation of their use in various issues in the work of a young specialist. With the help of the Intensive for the training of trainers, the participants were allowed to form their first business plan and implement their ideas in the development. (g/d No. 748).
