As part of the elective course“Social Entrepreneurship in the Provision of Social Services,”developed within the project“The Universities’ Reaction to Big Obstructions: Building resilient higher education to respond and manage societal crises”(TURBO)students from the Department of Sociology and Social Work at APP visited the social enterprises “Pampushechka” and “Rukomysly.”
During a meeting with the founder, Liuba Maksymovych, and the staff of the enterprises, the students discussed:
- the history of the creation of social enterprises and the key challenges in their development;
- the role of social business in supporting vulnerable groups, particularly women, veterans, and people in difficult life circumstances;
- practical aspects of organizing production, marketing, and customer engagement;
- the importance of social entrepreneurship for community development and fostering a culture of mutual support;
- opportunities for students to get involved in such initiatives through volunteering, internships, or their own projects.
The students noted that the experience of “Pampushechka” and “Rukomysly” is an example of how social entrepreneurship can combine economic viability with social impact, and also inspires the creation of their own innovative solutions in the field of social services.
