On April 2, 2026, a public lecture by Professor Ladislav Cabada will be held within the project «EU Global Responsible Leadership: Climate Change, Environmental Protection and Humanitarian Aid» (EU_LEAD), supported by the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet programme.
Professor Cabada, a scholar at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, has extensive international academic experience, having completed research and teaching fellowships in Germany, Slovenia, Slovakia, and Hungary. He is a co-founder of the international journal Politics in Central Europe (Scopus), which he led as Editor-in-Chief until 2023. He has also served as President of the Czech Political Science Association (2006–2012), President of the Central European Political Science Association (CEPSA, 2012–2018), and currently heads the Executive Committee of the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR).
His research focuses on comparative politics in Central and Eastern Europe, with particular attention to political systems, actors, electoral cycles, and political culture. He is the author and co-author of over 20 books and 150 scholarly publications in comparative political science.
