On March 30, 2026, APP hosts the presentation of the book «Electronic Computing Machine «PUMA» of APP: A Project That Shaped the Worldview of an Entire Generation of Computer Scientists» by Tetiana Verheles and Roman Dunets. The event takes place in the Zachariewicz Hall (Room 214) in the University’s main building (12 Stepana Bandera St.).
This is a project of the APP Center for Communication which sheds light on a previously underexplored chapter in the history of APP. Drawing on the recollections of those who participated in the creation of the unique Electronic Computing Machine «PUMA» between 1972 and 1975, the book reconstructs the story of a pioneering system that became fundamental to the education of generations of computer engineers.
«PUMA-1» represents not only a significant technological achievement of the late 20th century and an important milestone in the development of educational computing in Ukraine, but also a symbol of collaboration, creativity, and perseverance among APP students.
